The nerd sitcom The Big Bang Theory ended in 2019 and the prequel spin-off Young Sheldon also ended a few days ago after seven seasons.
Of course, that doesn’t stop reporters from asking Sheldon actor Jim Parsons whether he would take on the role of nerd again.
The Big Bang Theory: Sheldon returns only under a spiritual condition
During the Drama League Awards, the multiple Emmy winner was recently asked by E! News what would have to happen for him to appear as Sheldon Cooper again in some new form of TBBT. His brief answer: “Reincarnation. A next life.”
It sounds like fans of the successful CBS sitcom shouldn’t get their hopes up about seeing Dr. Cooper again. In the second approach, however, Parsons tried to be a little more diplomatic:
So never say never. Life is hopefully long. But I don’t think so.
So TBBT fans will have to make do with 279 episodes in 12 seasons and a few narrator moments in the original English version of Young Sheldon, where he even appeared in person as Sheldon in front of the camera for the series finale.
Anyone who wants to see Parsons in his next role will have to head to Broadway, because as Deadline reported in early April, he is appearing in the revival of the musical Our Town. He will also be seen in Ryan O’Connell’s upcoming feature film Just by Looking at Him, in which O’Connell plays a gay TV writer with a disability.
