Pressed for the country’s condominium associations: “Worrying”

The finances of the country’s condominium associations continue to be under pressure. A new report shows increased costs and reduced savings.

– It is worrying, says Jonas Gustavsson, chief economist at Nabo.

Interest costs that have almost doubled and sharply increased expenses for, among other things, heating, water and maintenance means that many condominium associations are in a difficult financial situation.

Savings decrease

Admittedly, income is also increasing, but not at the same rate and the consequence is that savings are decreasing, according to a report from the property manager Nabo.

Between 2021 and 2023, the savings have decreased from an average of around 155 to just over 120 kroner per square meter, and this year the savings look set to decrease further.

“Must improve savings”

Now Jonas Gustavsson, chief economist at Nabo, believes that the associations must find new ways.

– It is worrying that the savings are so much lower than recommended. In order to avoid increased indebtedness and increased fees in the long term, associations must find ways to improve their savings, says Jonas Gustavsson in a press release
