There have been many successful years where Roger has established Frölunda as a top team in Swedish hockey. During Rönnberg’s time in the booth, the club has won two SM golds, 2016 and 2019, as well as four CHL titles, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
Rönnberg’s new team
The last season in Frölunda will be emotional.
– It is a joint decision, says Roger Rönnberg to the club’s official website.
– I always want to win and the important thing now is not to find shortcuts. This is my last chance and I am fully focused on it.

Frölunda will also have a full year to find Rönnberg’s successor as head coach.
– During the autumn (2023), the decision that we would separate grew. We have always believed in continuity and think it is something very good, but at the same time we needed to look ahead and take steps in a new direction. This is the best for both parties. And to avoid speculation during the rest of the season, we choose to go out with this now, says the sports manager Fredrik Sjöström in a press release.
