On a five-year mission into the unknown, the USS Enterprise is to locate an alien life form in the vastness of space. However, they are ambushed by the Part 3 villain Krall (Idris Elba).
Also returning to the star ensemble are Karl Urban as Pille, Anton Yelchin as Chekov, Simon Pegg as Scotty and John Cho as Sulu.

After 8 years, a final film in the series finally seems to be secured
In 2022, the studio Paramount surprised everyone with an announcement that Star Trek 4 would be released in theaters as early as December 2023. Shortly thereafter, however, it turned out that a large part of the cast knew nothing about the announcement. After that, things went quiet again about a possible sequel to the popular Star Trek reboot.
This year in March, the redeeming news came for fans. Star Trek 4 is actually in the works and the stars are set to return. Series expert Steve Yockey is set to rescue the final film of the four-part series from production hell and direct it.
There is no concrete plot yet for part 4 of the now not so young crew from the Kelvin timeline. The cast has not yet been finally confirmed, but experts assume that the stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho and Simon Pegg will return.
