A person is wanted in custody for a fatal shooting in Södermalm

The person requested to be detained is under 18 years of age. A person, over the age of 18, is already in custody on probable cause suspected of the murder. Another is in custody on suspicion of aiding and abetting murder.

It was early on Monday evening, May 6, that a man in his 40s was shot dead on a street near Skanstull on Södermalm. Several people are said to have witnessed the shooting.

The man in his 40s is said to have died at the scene and according to information to SVT, he had gang connections.

Keeping names secret: “Risk of reprisals”

The prosecutor has previously chosen to withhold the names of the suspects in the murder.

– Given the situation we have in Sweden, I have chosen to keep the names confidential as there is a risk of retaliation against relatives, senior prosecutor Marina Chirakova has previously told SVT.
