    During yesterday, several storm warnings were sent out for Texas and Oklahoma, in the middle of the United States.

    There are now reports of great devastation along a major road, where, among other things, a petrol station has collapsed.

    The rescue service in Denton, just north of Dallas, states that a major rescue operation has been launched. Some are said to be stuck.

    If Donald Trump is re-elected president, he will release the life-sentenced founder of the infamous Silk Road site, where illegal drugs and other goods could be traded under the protection of anonymity.

    This is what the former president says on Saturday in a speech at an event in Washington to name the presidential candidate for the Libertarian Party.

    – If you vote vote for me, I will on day one commute the sentence for Ross Ulbricht, Trump said.

    Ulbricht, 40, was arrested in 2013 in San Francisco and sentenced in 2015 to two life sentences plus an additional 40 years in prison. Trump’s performance was met with enthusiasm from the audience, which was otherwise skeptical and repeatedly booed Trump, who finally responded.

    The number of people killed in Saturday’s Russian bomb attack on a department store in Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine has risen to eleven people, Governor Oleh Synegubov said on Sunday morning.

    Around 40 people were injured when Russian precision bombs hit the large construction and interior design department store Epitsentr on the outskirts of Kharkiv. A large fire broke out in the department store after the attack, which occurred in the middle of weekend shopping at around 4 p.m.

    On Saturday evening, it was stated that 16 people were still missing.

  • Shooting in Malmö

    A shooting has occurred near Jesusparken in Malmö around 04:00 on Sunday.

    The police have fired their service weapon after a threatening situation.

    A 30-year-old man was found at the scene.

    After the shooting, the man was arrested for aggravated weapons offenses and aggravated threats against an official.

    The site is cordoned off and technicians are working on site.

    The police were previously tight-lipped about what happened.

    – It’s true that it happened, but I don’t have any information I can go out with right now, said Mikael Holmström, commander of the police in Malmö, to Sydsvenskan earlier in the morning.

    Update:

    The 30-year-old was first taken to hospital with injuries, which should not be life-threatening.

  • Israel denies reports of captured soldier

    Hamas’s armed wing, the al-Qassam Brigades, said one or more Israeli soldiers were captured in an ambush in Gaza on Saturday, claims denied by Israel’s military.

    According to the terror-labelled organization, several Israeli soldiers are said to have been “killed, injured or captured”, says spokesman Abu Obeida.

    A video published by Hamas shows a bloodied person being dragged along the floor of a tunnel, but the time, place and authenticity of the video could not be verified.

    Israel’s military (IDF) writes in a message on Telegram that “there was no incident where a soldier was kidnapped”.

  • Explosion at apartment building

    An explosion occurred at the entrance to an apartment building in Halmstad during the night towards Sunday.

    Police and emergency services are on the scene and the alarm came in at 03.57.

    – The witnesses spoke of smoke development, but it was calm when we arrived. There should be no personal injuries, says Johan Wallin, officer on duty at the rescue service.

    The police stated later in the morning that the door to the house had been damaged. The place is cordoned off for a technical examination, and the police have started knocking on doors.

    It is being investigated as a public hazard devastation.

  • Police fired warning shots – great effort

    The police fired a warning shot during an operation in Tensta in northwest Stockholm during the night towards Sunday.

    – At 01.56 we received an alarm that one or more people had been seen with a weapon-like object. When we went there, a situation arose where the police fired a warning shot, says Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson at the police’s regional command center.

    No one is injured, but the police have detained several people and have a large search operation in Tensta still after 4 o’clock.

    – We are looking for more people and have many patrols in the area, says Carina Skagerlind.

    A weapon has been found in connection with the operation and the police have started a preliminary investigation into serious weapons offences.

  • Two youths to hospital after fight

    A fight broke out on a street in Orminge in Nacka municipality at around 10pm on Saturday evening.

    The police state that two young people in their teens had to be taken to hospital by ambulance. The extent of the injuries is unknown and a preliminary investigation into serious assault has been initiated.

    No one is arrested.

  • Fire at hotel – guests evacuated

    A fire broke out in one of the rooms at a hotel in central Borlänge during the night towards Sunday.

    The emergency services received a first automatic alarm at 00:23. On the way to the hotel, there were more calls from passers-by about the development of smoke.

    – The entire hotel has been evacuated, we have had smoke spreading on two of the floors and are in the process of ventilating out the smoke gases, says emergency manager Daniel Larsson.

    According to the emergency services, one person has been taken care of by paramedics. The extent of the damage is unclear.

    The police have launched a preliminary investigation into public negligence and cordoned off the hotel room for a technical examination.

  • Spitfire plane crashed – one died

    A Second World War Spitfire plane crashed during a display in eastern England on Saturday. The pilot died, but no one else was injured.

    The plane took part in a display for the 80th anniversary of D-Day, June 6, 1944, when Allied soldiers landed in Normandy, France.

    The Royal Air Force confirms the accident at the Coningsby military base. The cause of the accident is not known.

    During the 1930s and 40s, over 20,000 Spitfire planes were built, today only a few dozen planes remain. Six of them took part in Saturday’s show.

  • Extreme heat closes Pakistan’s schools

    A heat wave has swept across Pakistan with temperatures exceeding 50 degrees in some places.

    The regional government of Punjab was forced on Saturday to decide to close schools and introduce summer vacation a week earlier than scheduled because of the heat.

    The summer vacation will last until mid-August, according to Noor ul Huda, spokesperson for the regional school authority.

    The decision affects around 26 million school children.

    Sind province in southeastern Pakistan has also seen temperatures rise, with 51 degrees recorded on Saturday in Mohenjo-Daro, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Institute. The extreme heat wave is believed to last the rest of the month.

  • Heavy house fire in Nässjö

    There is a heavy fire in a villa in Nässjö.

    – Five people are affected by this and one has been taken to hospital, says Johanna Månsson, press spokesperson at the rescue service.

    The fire is extensive and according to the rescue service, it is not yet controlled. At the moment, it is not seen that there is any risk of spreading to nearby buildings.

  • Paddlers fired upon

    Three people in their 20s with air weapons have fired at several paddlers at Ätran in Svenljunga.

    The police were called to the scene and checked the people. The patrols have also found an air rifle and a carbon dioxide gun.

    All three are suspected of attempted serious assault.

    However, none of the paddlers were hit.

    A fight between several people has broken out outside the Swedish fair in Gothenburg.

    According to the police, it is about 10 to 15 people.

    A “troll factory” is a hidden organization that spreads misleading information for propaganda purposes – without being clear about who the sender is.
