The Head of State, the Prime Minister and the President of the Legislative Assembly may also be candidates in the presidential, legislative and municipal elections. During the debates, hundreds of demonstrators supporting the regime gathered around the conference room and attempted to invade the premises where the work was being held. They wanted a mandate of at least ten years to be granted to Captain Ibrahim Traoré. They were eventually pushed back by security forces.
