Manchester United beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final 2–1.
Manchester United got a boost to their difficult season by beating local rivals Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
United’s first goal came as a result of City’s defensive mix-up. Alejandro Garnacho ran after a long pass. City defender If Guardiol got to the ball first, but the goalkeeper’s communication Stefan Ortega didn’t work with Gvardiol headed the ball over Ortega and Garnacho was able to put it into the net.
The second hit, on the other hand, was a well-constructed situation that was finished off Kobbie Meinoo Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes of inputs.
In the second half, City looked for goals strictly. Erling Haaland hit the top bar and Andre Onana defended well by Kyle Walker shot. In the 87th minute, Jeremy Doku shot a shot from a distance.
United’s season in the Premier League was once again a big disappointment. It finished eighth and the main coach Erik ten Hag position has been threatened. However, winning the FA Cup is a big success for United and ten Hag.
Manchester City won the Premier League championship for the fourth time in a row, but there were no other trophies in the spring. In the Champions League, City lost to Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.
