For the world’s hardest achievement in a game you have to play for over 8 weeks without a break

Getting all the achievements in a game is the declared goal of many players. But some of the achievements are very difficult to get. One particular one requires weeks of playing – but whoever manages to get it can count themselves as part of an exclusive group from then on.

What are the achievements all about? Many players are simply playing leisurely and see a notification appear from time to time somewhere on the edge of the screen: “Achievement unlocked,” or something similar.

Because a certain level has been completed, a boss has been defeated, or the end of the game has been reached. Such achievements are often along the way, just waiting to be unlocked sooner or later.

The situation is different with achievements that not every player can get just by completing the game. Often there are secret sections or records that must be achieved. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, an achievement that requires special charity recently made headlines.

Over the years, a number of difficult achievements have been collected. But one in particular requires a lot of effort. What’s more, it belongs to a game that is already 18 years old: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

The series has received an open-world title with Wildlands:

What achievement is it about? Fans of tactical military shooters will know the Ghost Recon series and perhaps also the spin-off Advanced Warfighter from 2006.

In the multiplayer segment of the game, there is an infamous achievement that can only be unlocked by the most diligent and best players. It is called “World Champion”. A name that describes the achievement quite aptly.

All you have to do is make it to the top of the global rankings. To be more precise, to number 1. Not only does that sound difficult, it is. First of all, you need a lot of time. Players who have tried it say that it takes four to six weeks to play – if you play 24 hours a day.

However, this value only applied in the release years. Of course, more and more players have tried to reach this goal and it has become increasingly difficult to reach the top. It now takes over eight weeks, in some cases even up to six months.

The ranking works like this: There is a scale from 1 to 25. You start at one and earn promotions by winning matches, which give you XP. The problem: If your opponents are four or more levels lower than you, the victory doesn’t count.

So you can’t just compete against bad players and cheat your way up. If you’re too bad, better players will hold you back from moving up.

If you make it, you will belong to an exclusive circle

How many players have completed the achievement? The number of mastered achievements varies somewhat. According to exophase.com, only about 0.76 percent of all players on the Xbox 360 have unlocked the achievement. The achievements of 55,538 players were tracked.

According to the website trueachivements.com, 139 players have unlocked “World Champion” on Xbox. And all this for just 40 Gamerscore points. However, the fame that comes to the few who complete the challenge is probably worth more to them anyway.

You can claim to have one of the hardest achievements in gaming history. And that’s a beautiful thing.

Have you ever tried a similar task? What do you think is the most valuable achievement you have received? Write it in the comments, we are curious. There is also an achievement in The Stanley Parable that demands one thing from you above all else: a lot of time.
