Have you planned to travel to the sun this summer? When it comes to booking plane tickets, there are a few things to keep in mind.
According to a new forecast, there is, for example, a week this summer where plane tickets look like they could be significantly cheaper – especially if you compare it to the most expensive flight week.

Then you should book the plane ticket – for the best price
There is also money to be made by booking your plane ticket at the “right” time in relation to departure.
The travel search engine Momondo has produced data based on flight searches made between December 1, 2022 and September 15, 2023. According to the flight data, prices tend to be lower and more stable the further in advance travelers book.

But the best price, you got that just weeks before the start of the trip.
– The data shows, however, that some of the best prices for flights to destinations outside Sweden could also be found as late as three weeks before the departure date, says Per ChristiansenSenior Vice President and travel expert at Momondo, to News24.
At that time, the average ticket price (round trip) in economy class for one person was SEK 4,461.
– If you compare with when the average price was at its highest, 13 weeks before departure with SEK 5,702, there was an opportunity to save around 22 percent.
Between the most expensive and the cheapest average price, there was thus a difference of SEK 1,241 per person.

Flying outside of Europe? Consider this
Anyone who is interested in traveling far away is, however, right to have a longer view, according to Momondo’s flight data.
– For long-haul flights to destinations outside Europe, Momondo’s data shows that our best prices for summer 2023 could be found approximately 25 weeks before departure, says Christiansen.
