What happens during an update? This is a major maintenance for the start of Chapter 5 Season 3. Update 30.00 will be loaded onto the servers to change the map, bring new skins and shake up the meta with new weapons.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3: Start and Duration of Server Down
When does the server start down? Epic Games has dated the end of Chapter 5 Season 2 on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 8:00 a.m. German time. So far there has been no confirmation from Epic Games as to when exactly the servers will be shut down.
We estimate the downtime to start between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Experience shows that matchmaking is deactivated 30 minutes before the start. If Epic Games specifies the launch, we will tell you what it is.
When will the servers be back online? This depends on the size and scope of the update. If there are no complications, the duration could be between three and five hours. But it could also be that the server down wasn’t completed until around 2:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. We’ll keep you up to date with our ticker
When are the patch notes coming? Epic Games is releasing a huge list of changes for every mode at the start of the season. If these become known, we will write a separate article for you listing all the changes in German. We will then link it to you.
