According to the guide 50 Top Pizzasan influential Italian site which ranks the best pizza makers and pizza makers in the world, the Pizzaiolo of the Year 2024 (Ferrarelle Award) would be located in France, a stone’s throw from the capital, in Hauts-de-Seine! But there is no coincidence: Tonino Cogliano, master pizza maker at IMperfetto located at 14 boulevard Richard Wallace in Puteaux, and his manager Simone Lombardi, are both from Campania, a region in the south-west of Italy whose capital is none other than… Naples, stronghold of pizza since the 18th century! In addition, Tonino Cogliano is not unknown to the battalion, he who was already world champion of Neapolitan pizza, a title he obtained in Las Vegas in 2015. The Italian guide is full of praise for his pizza: “the dough is contemporary Neapolitan style and the cooking, always perfect, is its strong point”.
It is in 7th place in the ranking of 50 best pizzerias in Europe 2024 made by the guide outside Italy which we also find IMperfetto. A place which gives it the status of best pizzeria in France, given that it is the first French address to emerge from the ranking. What to say ! A double accolade for this pizzeria with its warm and friendly setting, where “the staff is super nice and helpful” according to its boss of course…
Among the exclusive creations offered by the establishment, the transalpine guide recommends the Tributo pizza with Naples broccoli pesto, fior di latte, Apulian stracciatella, anchovies, taggiasche olives and basil, a must at 18.50 euros. The pizzeria also offers excellent starters (antipasti, focaccia, pizzette) as well as typical desserts of the boot (tiramisù, pistachio semifreddo, Nutella panuozzo, gelato), cocktails, craft beers and high quality Italian wines . “In this pizzeria, the origins and traditions of the two owners are respected and valued, but with a contemporary and refined touch,” commented the inspectors.
Finally, it is not one but 5 French addresses that stand out in the list of 50 best pizzas in Europe 2024and they have in common that they are all located in the Paris region: IMperfetto in Puteaux (7th place), Guillaume Grasso La Vera Pizza Napoletana in the 15th arrondissement (21st place), La Manifattura in the 14the arrondissement (31st place), Dalmata in the 2nd arrondissement (40th place) and Lovine’s in the 1er9e and 11e arrondissements, (47th place).
