Baby boom at Myskoxcentrum in Härjedalen – the male Brutus has become a father again

A baby boom. That’s what animal keeper Elin Ringkvist calls the last week’s events at the Myskoxcentrum.

– All three calves are healthy and happy. They spend most of the day resting by their mothers’ sides. In between, they are busy discovering their surroundings and tasting the first grass, writes Elin Ringkvist to SVT Jämtland.

Brutus the muskox

  • After years of loneliness – Brutus the muskox got a new home in Tännäs

  • The father of the calves is the male Brutus, who in 2021 moved to the Myskoxcentrum in Härjedalen after getting into trouble with the legal system in his hunt for ladies. At Myskoxcentrum, he has found the women’s company he was looking for.

    – This year he is the only bull with three cows.

See the new calves in the video above.

One of the mothers is the cow Ronja, who is 4 years old and had her first calf this year. According to animal keeper Elin Ringkvist, Ronja has been a super talented mother. Photo: Mats Ricklund/Myskoxcentrum in Härjedalen
