SMHI: The heat is still there
When many go with a longing for the summer holidays, swimming and warm evenings, it is high time to wonder if the weather forecast is turning for the worse.
In an interview with News24 says SMHI’s meteorologist Emma Härenstam that the warm air mass currently prevailing over Sweden will remain in the future.
– From what I can see so far, the heat remains and will also affect the northernmost parts of the country, where it has been a little cooler in recent days.

But despite high temperatures, there may be an interruption in sunbathing. Härenstam explains that during a period of the week there may be cooler air, clouds and even showers in some areas.
– It will be a little cooler when clouds come in or showers, which may happen in the coming week. In general, it now looks like the showers are coming from the south, which means that a little more rain can be expected in southern Sweden, she says and adds:
– During Thursday, May 23, there will be showers from the south, which means that Skåne and Blekinge will get rain before it moves up over Götaland, Svealand and Norrbotten during Friday.
In Stockholm, two to three millimeters of rain can be expected.

However, it is a short-term break in the summer heat. During the coming weekend, the temperature will rise again. Along the west coast, there may even be a record high temperature that is measured.
– It could be the hottest day of the year when the west coast can get up to 29 degrees. Along the east coast, it can be the lowest temperature as some winds blow in from the Baltic Sea. Then it is more about 20 degrees instead of 28-29 degrees, says Härenstam to Nyheter24.
