NORWAY FOREIGN AFFAIRS ANNOUNCED
Following Ireland, the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that it will recognize Palestine in accordance with international law and the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
SPAIN TOO MADE THE SAME DECISION
Following Norway, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that his country will officially recognize the Palestinian state on May 28.
ISRAEL’S MOVE WAS NOT DELAYED
Israel, on the other hand, decided to recall its ambassadors in Ireland and Norway, who announced that they would recognize the Palestinian state. In a written statement made by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated that Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz “immediately” summoned the Israeli ambassadors in Dublin and Oslo to the country for consultation.
It was stated that the ambassadors were recalled due to Ireland and Norway’s announcement that they would recognize the Palestinian state.
Israeli Foreign Minister Katz noted that if Spain decides to recognize the Palestinian state, it will take a similar step and recall Israel’s Ambassador to Madrid.
“WE WILL HAVE TO ARREST NETANYAHU”
ICC Chief Prosecutor Kerim Han announced on May 20 that he had applied for an “arrest warrant” against Netanyahu and Defense Minister Gallant.
Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide stated that if the International Criminal Court (ICC) issues an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, they will have to implement it.
Norway was the first European country to announce that it would arrest Netanyahu if an arrest warrant was issued.

In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; “We are very pleased that Spain, Ireland and Norway announced that they will recognize the State of Palestine,” it said.
