Gamers Nexus is one of the most famous tech YouTubers. He recently complained about the poor customer support from the manufacturer ASUS. A little later he receives thousands of emails from viewers who have the same difficulties.
Gamers Nexus wanted to send in a ROG Ally because of a defective joystick. Customer support wanted to replace the device’s display instead and asked for around $200.
Steve Burke, the boss of Gamers Nexus, felt betrayed by customer service and dug into the matter. In the end, he was visibly dissatisfied and stated himself at the end of the video, “Asus’ warranty service is absolute rubbish in our experience.”
Now Gamers Nexus has said on Twitter that it has received thousands of emails from viewers. There are so many that he can’t read them all.
High response from viewers to the Gamers Nexus video
This is what Gamers Nexus writes on Twitter: The tech YouTube channel reported on Twitter/X. Here he writes that they are currently receiving non-stop emails from viewers who are also affected by the same issues. Gamers Nexus writes that the problems can no longer be a “coincidence” if so many are affected:
We receive non-stop emails from viewers about ASUS’ poor customer support. It’s incredible how normal this practice seems. This reminds me of the flood of emails about Newegg a few years ago.
It’s physically impossible to read all emails, but with all the emails about support issues, it doesn’t appear to be just a “coincidence” or “misunderstanding” how ASUS is doing this.
If someone has a time machine or a quantum hack to stretch time, then we could all read emails about the nightmares with ASUS support.
A user on reddit explains that if the Gamers Nexus team doesn’t manage to read all of the emails, there must be thousands of emails. With hundreds or even thousands of submissions from viewers, this is not a good indication of the manufacturer’s customer support.
ASUS has now responded and explained how it wants to continue
ASUS has responded to the allegations: ASUS told Gamers Nexus that it wanted to get to the bottom of the problems. The company has specifically stated that they will honor and cover warranties related to recent AMD 7000 chip issues, including AMD Expo, Intel XMP profiles beyond what was originally covered.
They also want to investigate further complaints. However, Gamers Nexus has already stated that it now wants to view ASUS as “persona non grata” when it comes to advertising and collaboration. So an undesirable person with whom you no longer want to work.
