Vinkevener MM was arrested in Belgium at the end of December 2020 after picking up 250 blocks of cocaine in a warehouse in the port of Temse. He had a telephone with him with which he communicated with other people involved via the EncroChat server. According to the Public Prosecution Service, this shows that he was involved in at least three other transports, totaling more than 130 kilos of cocaine. He was tried today in Utrecht for those three transports. A 4-year prison sentence was previously demanded against him in the Belgian case, but the Belgian judge will only make a ruling this fall.
