Peter Forsberg is busy with the hockey World Cup right now.
Then the Swedish legend reveals that he has been subjected to a huge mockery.
– I doubt that this will be good, says “Foppa” with a laugh to Expressen.
He is one of Swedish hockey’s greatest players of all time and a true Tre Kronor icon after winning double Olympic gold and double World Cup gold. Peter Forsberg is currently very current as a TV expert at Viaplay during the ongoing hockey World Cup.
Forsberg at the WC
First, “Foppa” was in the Czech Republic to work with the tournament, but now he has gone to Sweden to work the last week at home. A lot because of the Elitloppet, which is decided at Solvalla on Sunday, actually at the same time as the WC final.

It will be a difficult choice for Forsberg, who never misses going to the race.
– It actually started before I retired, then I started going to the Elitloppet. I think it’s a fun weekend. There are a few of us, the father is usually there and it’s a lovely group that usually gets together every year. It’s a tradition I’ve always had with the Poles, at least for the last 20 years. I hope we can maintain that – and then it doesn’t matter that much if it’s the hockey World Cup or not. It’s something I have to hold on to, says the icon firmly to Expressen.
The ultimate mockery
Forsberg is also part owner of his own trotting horse, a three-year-old stallion that has been given the most unexpected name “Sir Alex Ferguson”. Which of course catches the eye of Foppa, who is a devoted Tottenham supporter.

The reason is that Peter owns the horse together with his father Kent Forsberg. Now he is forced to live with having been subjected to the worst mockery.
– As you can hear, I didn’t name it, it was the father. He is a United supporter while I am a Spurs supporter, so had I decided the horse would have been given a different name. But I didn’t find out until they had named that horse. I doubt it will be good, he tells the evening newspaper with a laugh.
– Joking aside, Sir Alex (Ferguson) has been king – but United is not at the top of my list.
