The President of Iran attended the opening ceremony of the dam on the Iran-Azerbaijan border yesterday. Reisi, along with Minister of Foreign Affairs Hussein Emir Abdullahiyan and some officials, had a helicopter accident on the way back. Upon Iran’s request, Turkey assigned the Akinci unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in search and rescue activities. The coordinates of the helicopter wreckage detected by Akıncı UAV were shared with Iranian authorities.
THERE WERE NO SURVIVORS IN THE ACCIDENT
Iranian teams reached the determined point and determined that there was no survivor in the accident. Iran’s Council of Guardians of the Constitution announced that First Vice President Mohammed Muhbir will assume the presidency in accordance with the Constitution, after the approval of the country’s leader Ali Khamenei.
PRESIDENT WILL BE ELECTED WITHIN 50 DAYS
According to the Iranian Constitution, the board consisting of the Speaker of the Parliament, the Head of the Judiciary and the First Vice President must make arrangements in order to elect the new president within 50 days at most.

The world turned its attention to Iran. Many Turkish journalists also went to the scene. It was stated that there was great activity in the region, and there were police on almost every street. The bodies were taken from the scene in Verzigan, Iran, and are being brought. There is a long convoy of vehicles. The helicopter was detected by Akıncı TİHA. Later, the bodies were found and taken away with different vehicles. The scene is extremely active. There are also extensive security measures in the area where the helicopter wreckage is located. There are Iranian police on every street. From time to time we encounter different authorities at some points. There is dense fog in the region. This is Verzigan region of Iran, the spot where the helicopter crashed.
“IT IS NOT EASY TO MOVE WITH COMFORT”
It’s extremely active right now. We see the Iranian Red Crescent and the police. Many streets are closed. It is not easy to feel comfortable in the region. Was this an accident? Was it sabotage? Was the accident a technical problem? Was it an assassination? All this is being talked about. There were 9 people in the helicopter. The teams removed the 9 bodies, and the vehicles left one by one.
‘AGENT’ ALLEGATION ABOUT THE PILOT
A wide variety of claims have been made. There are allegations that the incident was carried out by Mossad. Another claim is that the pilot of the helicopter was an agent. But there is nothing clear for now. It is also said that the helicopter does not have a black box. It is reported that the helicopter was broken into several pieces and the teams collected these parts. Iranian police are currently providing security in the region. Not everyone is allowed to enter the area.
