Robert Fico shot – the shooter may have received help

The police in Slovakia are investigating the possibility that the 71-year-old man who is suspected of the attempted assassination of Prime Minister Robert Fico did not act on his own, as previously believed.

This was confirmed by Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok during a press conference according to Reuters.

He did not provide further details about the suspects.

The 71-year-old has admitted the shooting in court, but the motive remains unclear.

Fico was shot on Wednesday and earlier on Sunday Deputy Prime Minister Robert Kalinak stated that the injuries are no longer life-threatening.
