The Liberals want to ban the Sweden Democrats from using anonymous accounts.
A proposal that the party secretary of the Social Democrats is critical of.
– They are burying SD’s troll factory in an investigation. The government must act here and now, says Tobias Baudin (S).
On Friday, the Liberals held a press conference to comment on the development of the last few days following Kalla fakta’s review “Undercover in the Trollfabriken”.
It has already been demanded that the Social Democrats close down the anonymous accounts. And at the press conference, Johan Pehrson said that they now want to ban anonymous accounts.
– We will seek a majority to prohibit parties from spreading political messages or advertising anonymously, Pehrson said at the press conference.
Ulf Kristofferson: Could have caused a government crisis
The proposal has not been well received by everyone within the Liberals.
– The critics are not satisfied. They would have liked to see tougher measures. That all cooperation and negotiations with SD were immediately paused. Until they remove anonymous accounts run by the party. But it could have caused a government crisis. And it would have been disastrous so close to an election. Especially for the Liberals who have such weak opinion figures, says Ulf Kristofferson, political commentator on TV4 Nyheterna.
The Social Democrats’ party secretary Tobias Baudin is also critical.
– It is obvious to everyone that the Liberals are trying to hide SD’s troll factory in an investigation, says Baudin and continues:
– Unfortunately, I think it is becoming obvious that the Liberals put the Tidö cooperation before Sweden and the best interests of the Swedish people.

Ulf Kristofferson on the outcome from L: “You can see it as a retreat”
“Hear how absurd that sounds”
The Liberals will present the proposal to the parliamentary committee appointed last summer, which looks into political party funding and transparency.
Which other parties do you think can get behind this proposal?
– I don’t know that. But I think a lot of people listening hear how absurd it sounds. Sweden is in the middle of an election campaign. The government, where the Liberals sit, must now ensure that the election we are in can take place without undue influence to secure the democratic conversation. You have to do things here and now and not bury this in an investigation.
