Teen charged in Oxford County bus crash

A teenager is charged following a collision with a school bus southwest of Woodstock.

Police responded Thursday around 8:30 am to a collision involving a school bus on Plank Line in the Township of South-West Oxford, Ontario Provincial Police said.

There were students aboard the bus at the time of the crash, but nobody was injured, police said.

An 18-year-old Tillsonburg resident is charged with following too closely, an offense under the Highway Traffic Act.

St. Thomas police are investigating a pair of assaults at two different high schools.

A principal at a high school called police on Tuesday to report an in-class assault that resulted in the victim requiring medical attention, police say.

Later that day, a parent contacted police to report that their child had been assaulted at a different high school, police said.

“Both incidents of school violence remain under investigation,” police said in a statement.

Police didn’t name the schools or say whether the incidents were related.
