The person who was shot in Salem on Wednesday was not the target, according to information to Aftonbladet.

The youth who is suspected of the attempted murder has made certain concessions, according to the information.

A person is being treated in hospital with serious injuries after being shot in Salem south of Stockholm on Wednesday evening.

According to information to Aftonbladet, a suspected perpetrator was arrested with a weapon just 50 meters from the crime scene. On Thursday, the police announced that a person has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

– I cannot go into any more details about the arrest, says Helena Boström Thomas, police spokesperson.

It is about a young man who is from southern Sweden. According to information given to Aftonbladet, the young man must have been commissioned to carry out a shooting and the compensation must have been several hundred thousand kroner.

Made concessions

The suspect was arrested just a few hundred meters from the shooting at an apartment hotel shortly after the crime. According to Aftonbladet’s information, he must have made certain concessions regarding the shooting, among other things, it must be the wrong person who was shot.

During the evening, the arrested youth was said to have been armed when he moved around the area and then ended up in some form of “argument” which led to shots being fired, according to information given to Aftonbladet.

In connection with the fact that the arrested youth received the “contract” for the shooting, he should also have received instructions on how to use a weapon, according to the information.
