The Tidö parties’ party secretaries will meet this afternoon to discuss the situation that has arisen after Kalla fakta’s disclosure of the working methods at the Sweden Democrats’ communications department.
The TV4 program has, among other things, shown how SD uses anonymous accounts on social media to ridicule and engage with both political opponents and the Tidö parties.
In a comment before the meeting, SD’s party secretary Mattias Bäckström Johansson says that today they sent out a membership letter in which they strongly hit back against TV4’s “influence operation” against the Sweden Democrats.
“Minor Adjustments”
At the same time, he promises certain adjustments in SD’s post about the other Tidö parties. “We have noted M, L and KD’s views on a few posts on social media and how these resonate with the respect clause in the Tidö Agreement. We are prepared to make some minor adjustments to soften the tone going forward so that we can once again focus on solve important problems in society,” he writes to TT.
SD says that it is about two employees in the communications department who spread satire and humor clips about the other parties. They will be assigned other duties until they have received training in the Tidö Agreement’s respect clause and until a stricter policy regarding postings about collaborating parties comes into effect.
Will delete post
“The training on the respect clause will be documented and handed over to the other Tidö parties. Furthermore, we have shared a list of the posts that concern our partner parties. All posts on that list will be deleted from our platforms”.
But for the Liberals, it is important that TV4’s disclosure has other consequences, TT learns. The Liberals’ party leader Johan Pehrson stated on Wednesday that it is “absolutely central” that SD ends anonymous accounts.
– One should not engage in “false flag” operations, he said.
Among the Tidö parties there is a concern that the issue will take focus from the EU election campaign and there is therefore an effort to remove the issue from the agenda, TT learns.
