From today, Thursday 16 May, it is possible to vote early abroad for the EU elections.
“Voters who are abroad can, as of today, vote early in the EU elections at approximately 225 Swedish embassies and consulates worldwide,” says Anna Nyqvist, head of office at the Swedish Electoral Authority, in a press release.
Voting takes place during a limited period of time and the opening hours vary. To vote early at an embassy or consulate, an ID document is needed. Voting cards are not necessary, but can facilitate, writes the authority.
From 22 May you can vote early in Sweden and the last day for voting is on election day 9 June.
