Västerås politician Elias Norgren (SD) works at the media channel Riks – sees no risk of assignments clashing

For five months, Kalla fakta’s reporter Daniel Andersson infiltrated the Rik’s YouTube channel and later the Sweden Democrats’ communications department with a hidden camera.

IN first part of the review figures the Västerås politician Elias Norgren (SD) as one of the journalists who works on the Riks media channel, which was launched by the Sweden Democrats but was later sold to be independent from the party.

Elias Norgren sits as a substitute in the Västerås municipal council and is a regular member of the building committee and the culture committee. When SVT calls to ask questions about the review and how he keeps his mission as a politician separate from his job at Riks, he does not want to answer. Instead, he refers to Rik’s CEO Jacob Hagnell. But in an email reply, Elias Norgren writes like this:

“I usually frequent Rik’s popular program Morgongänget, and there it is repeatedly clear that I am a leisure politician for the Sweden Democrats. That I at Riks work with conservative news reporting and opinion formation is clear when you watch the channel.”

“Can’t take it” – in the clip, SVT asks Elias Norgren (SD) and Tobias Utterstedt, chairman of the Sweden Democrats in Västerås, how they see the connection.
