The Swedish national team is charging for this summer’s Olympics in Paris.
Now the decision for Armand Duplantis, which splits the national team, is revealed.
– You don’t have to be Einstein to figure it out, says “Mondo’s” agent Daniel Wessfeldt to Expressen.
Sweden has released its new Olympic collection for all Olympians and just like in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo and the Winter Olympics in Beijing, the Swedes will compete in clothes from Uniqlo. But not all, the athletes will compete in completely different clothes – from Puma.
“Mondo” decisive
The national athletics team has a contract with Craft for the rest of the year, but precisely during the 2024 Olympics, Puma will take over the blue and yellow clothes. The reason for the split in the Swedish national team is mostly about the world star Armand Duplantis.

He is one of the Paris Olympics’ biggest poster names and a crown jewel for the German sports brand.
– Haha, you shouldn’t ask me that. You can ask Puma. But you don’t have to be Einstein to figure it out, says his agent Daniel Wessfeldt to the evening newspaper Expressen.
– If “Mondo” hadn’t had Puma, they might not have been as eager.
Duplantis splits
It is the Swedish Olympic Committee, SOK, that has chosen to split the national team in this way. Where the Swedish Olympic team will compete in different clothes.
– It is a settlement that SOK has made and they have the right to make any settlement they want. It could have been Nike or Adidas or whatever, but Puma has been most interested, I guess, says Wessfeldt about the situation.
– We are happy that Armand gets to expose his main sponsor, of course.

Most likely, it is about the fact that Puma has paid the best to take care of the Swedish national athletics team’s competition clothes during the Olympics.
– That Puma has an extra great interest in Sweden… it is a given that it has to do with Armand. Then I think they would have had a certain interest in Sweden anyway. Even if Duplantis hadn’t been “Puma’s old man”, says Peter Reinebo at SOK and admits that the financial aspect has been decisive.
– SOK is of course careful that it should be as good clothing as possible, but also that it should be financially beneficial. It is a question of resources. A combination of several factors.
