Munro passed away last Monday evening at his residence, aged 92 years.
She has suffered from dementia for several years.
– It is not unexpected given that she has been unwell, but it is extremely tragic. The world is losing one of its strongest literary voices, says Jesper Bengtsson, Publishing manager at Atlas, Munro’s Swedish publisher, to TT.
Munro was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2013.
– She is a unique voice that took short story writing to Nobel Prize levels and has touched readers all over the world, says Bengtsson.
