Sven, 48, has lost 168 kilos – with the famous diet: “Has got a life”

Sven Eriksson weighed in at 289 kilos seven years ago, and says himself that he was “probably one of Sweden’s fattest individuals”. For the past five years, he has been on the famous carnivore diet – where at least 70 percent of the food you eat must come from animals. – I felt that I was dying from extreme obesity and started this. And this diet has in some strange way restored basically everything soon, says Sven, who today weighs 121 kilos. – I have gotten rid of ten autoimmune diseases, and now I suddenly have a life I could never have before. The son eats the same His son Alfred Bergström is 14 years old and has been following the meat diet for a year now. He and father Sven eat all kinds of meat, but also cheese, eggs and fish. – It will be quite varied anyway, says Alfred in the programme. – It’s fun just to try and it feels normal to eat like this, it’s very good. The Swedish Food Agency is critical The Swedish Food Agency is concerned about both the environmental and health consequences of the diet, but Sven Eriksson does not give much thought to it. – The question is which is more dangerous: to weigh 289 kilos as I did or 121 kilos as I do today? I think being overweight is even more dangerous for getting cancer than the meat diet itself, he says and continues: – Regarding my son, he has had problems with his stomach since he was six months old. Last year he asked if he could start eating like me, and then his stomach problems went away.
