Ludvig Åberg is charging ahead of the second major of his career – and leaves a reassuring message about his left knee.
– It feels okay, I think. I have played nine holes and there are no problems, he tells Svensk Golf.
Ludvig Åberg already felt minor knee problems when he achieved a sensational second-place finish in his major debut at the US Masters a month ago.
The problems are not gone yet.
Ahead of the PGA Championship, which begins on Thursday at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky, Åberg pulled out of last week’s competition in North Carolina at short notice.
– Yes, it was nothing that was planned, but I chose to take it safe before the uncertain, he says.

According to Swedish Golf, Ludvig Åberg spent Monday at Valhalla practicing on both the driving range and the putting green. Then the Swedish world number six went out on the course to play nine holes in the company of his compatriots Vincent Norrman and Sebastian Söderbergwithout any visible signs of pain in the left knee.
– I don’t feel it that terribly much, but there are certain situations where it can tighten a little extra, but we keep it under control and look forward to the week, says Åberg to Svensk Golf.

A total of seven Swedes are in the PGA Championship. In addition to the aforementioned trio as well Alex Norén, Alexander Björk, Jesper Svensson and Tim Widing.
