Leo Carlsson, Nicklas Bäckström, the Sedin twins, Peter Forsberg – and Felix Unger Sörum.
Common denominator? WC game at the age of 18.
– It was really cool, says Unger Sörum after the championship debut.
Felix Unger Sörum was 18 years and 242 days when he had to make his first substitutions as a World Cup player on Monday evening.
It was 4 minutes and 55 seconds of ice time in the end, and the Swedish hockey talent offered, among other things, a change where he spun the German opponents away completely and fixed an expulsion for Sweden.
– It was really fun. Great fun to play with such good hockey players. You just have to go out and enjoy yourself, says Leksandsforwarden after Sweden’s 6-1 victory against Germany.
Are you satisfied with what you accomplished?
– It’s hard to say, they don’t have much. But I just try to go out and play. It’s clear, you have a nice feeling now with a win and such, says Unger Sörum.

Younger than “Foppa”
He is the fifth youngest Swedish WC debutant in history, only behind a well-known quartet in the form of Leo Carlsson, Nicklas Bäckström, Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin. With Monday’s WC debut, he pushed down another decently meritorious hockey retiree, Peter Forsberg, to sixth place on the list.
– It’s nothing that you walk around and think about. But it’s clear that it’s fun to get the chance this early, you just have to go out and take advantage of it, says Felix Unger Sörum.
Sweden’s total dominance against Germany made the debut possible. Already in the second period, the match was basically decided and then national team captain Sam Hallam gave the go-ahead to the 18-year-old.
“Good things happen”
– It was such a match and such a situation that it opened the possibility to tinker with the bench, says Hallam, who was impressed by Unger Sörum’s effort during the limited playing time after all.
– It is not easy to get so little ice time, but it is as usual – when he is on the ice, he gets the puck and then good things happen.

Will he get more ice time now?
– We’ll see what happens, it’s only a short time before the playoffs start, so we need to sharpen up. It’s nice to see that we have a breadth.
