According to Hindustan Times, scientists from Lund University in Malmö, Sweden, examined the data of 4.1 million people over a period of approximately 40 years.
In the new research showing the increasing threat of obesity, scientists revealed that the number of cancers related to excess weight is increasing exponentially.
While 32 types of cancer were associated with obesity in the study, it was noted that the most prominent of these were breast, bowel, uterine and kidney cancer.
In the study, scientists pointed out that 40 percent of cancer cases are linked to excess weight.
According to the data of the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 1 billion people around the world live with obesity, and the incidence of obesity in children and adolescents increased 4 times between 1990-2022. (AA)
