7 things to do in Destiny 2 before The Final Shape releases

The release of Destiny 2 “The Final Shape” won’t be long in coming. So it is important to prepare for the start. That’s why we’re showing you 7 things you should do to be ready for the release.

What are these things? Before every major release, Guardians should prepare and take precautions so that they can then throw themselves fully into the DLC. Each of our listed points is still optional and only gives you food for thought on what you could do to get a more relaxed start in “The Final Shape”.

If you have any other points that aren’t on our list, feel free to leave a comment and discuss with other Guardians. Now let’s come to the first item on our list.

Invest your Legendary Shards

Before the release of “The Final Shape” you should invest all of your Legendary Fragments so that they are not completely lost. The reason: Bungie wants to adjust its currency policy in Destiny 2.

Less is more, and with many Guardians floating in a pool of Shards while others are left high and dry, Bungie will be removing Legendary Shards and using Glimmer as the primary currency starting with DLC launch. So go to Rahool, stock up on Glimmer and try to get rid of your fragments.

Redeem your earned engrams

In your inventory under “Engram Tracker” you can see how many engrams you have accumulated from each merchant. So that these potential god rolls are not lost, you should redeem and decrypt them. When “The Final Shape” is released, Bungie will delete this and set it to zero, at least for seasonal retailers. So it’s important if you need items for your collection to redeem them.

Earn the Superblack shader

With the free event “Into the Light” you can get a special and limited shader, the “Super Black” shader.

This unique piece of Shaxx is limited and can never be earned again when “The Final Shape” is released. So that you can wrap yourself in a gloomy black, we’ll show you steps on how to quickly get to the shader:

  • Start a round of Assault on Legendary and exit the mode after opening the chests from round 10
  • You need a squad for this because matchmaking is disabled
  • After each run, purchase Shaxx’s repeatable bounties in the Hall of Champions
  • Complete all of Arcite’s weapon quests for a big XP boost and claim his bounties
  • This is currently the fastest method. Since Shaxx’s grind is tied to his reputation rank, you still have to do a certain amount of grinding.

Collect all seasonal weapons from Lightfall

Bungie wants to really celebrate the last month before the DLC release and so that Guardians without DLCs and seasons can also benefit from it, Bungie has made sure that every player can get the latest weapon blueprints from Seasons 20 – 23. So you will receive up to 4 blueprints every day if you run one of the currently active seasonal activities every day.

So if you want to complete your collection or finally build a strong God Roll as a newbie, now is the right time to take a look at Destiny 2.

Clean out your safe of unnecessary weapons

The vault always has an important place in the hearts of Guardians in Destiny 2, and although 600 slots currently sounds like a lot of space for armor and weapons, for many the vault is already full to bursting. So that you have enough space for the new treasures from “The Final Shape”, feel free to dismantle one or two items.

Note that Bungie will increase its vault slots by 100 more boxes upon release. So you get a little more air to breathe, but you should still clean out.

    Complete important catalysts for Exos

There are many catalysts for your weapons in Destiny 2 and they want to be unlocked. Weapons like the Drought Collector or Izanagi’s Burden only reveal their true power once you have unlocked their catalyst.

So in order to benefit from much more powerful weapons, you should also perfect them and equip them with their catalyst. You get most of them either from Banshee in the Tower or from completing activities like the Crucible.

Choose the perfect fashion for the release

In keeping with the Superblack shader, fashion is an important item on the to-do list. Every Guardian knows that “fashion” is the true endgame of Destiny 2, and to avoid looking like a tattered 200-year-old corpse, you should visit Ada-1 in the tower, pack some great shaders, and get new transmog options with her Synthetic Weave items unlock.

So not only be strong with a deadly build, but also kick the witness in his thousands of faces with your trademark boots.

Those were all the points we recommend to you before the release of “The Final Shape”. What did we forget and what do you recommend to the Guardians on MeinMMO? Let us know in the comments. New class items will soon make your Guardians more powerful, but the system has a catch.
