Instead of indulging in frustration, an Overwatch 2 player lost a whopping 35 kg while gaming. Even losing is fun.
If you play video games all day, you’ll get fat. This is an old saying that sometimes has a kernel of truth. But an Overwatch 2 player achieved the exact opposite and turned his daily Overwatch matches into a personal workout – and lost more than 30 kg of weight in the process.
The current season of Overwatch 2:
how did he do that? The player soggingbread played Overwatch 2 on the Switch. However, like most of us, he didn’t sit lazily on the couch or armchair, but instead ran on a treadmill. During a match he constantly maintained the speed of 4 km/h, while waiting for a match he increased the speed to 6 km/h.
Soggingbread not only lost a lot of games, but also a lot of pounds. He lost a total of 35 kg over the course of a year – from 125 kg (250 pounds) to just over 90 kg (180 pounds).
What were the problems? The biggest difficulties were probably aiming with the Joycon and the fact that the Switch only supports 30 fps. However, “the whole workout goes by so quickly when your mind is busy and you end up looking forward to it.”
Anyone who thinks: “I don’t want him on the team because he won’t perform” is seriously mistaken. Most recently, soggingbread reached the platinum rank, which is likely to be well above the average for most players. He started out in the low silver range, but has worked his way up as the pounds have dropped.
This is how the community reacts: The Overwatch 2 subreddit congratulates soggingbread on its impressive performance. However, you can’t resist a few amused comments, such as from prieston:
“I can’t avoid saying this:
Literally a sweating platinum player.”
Otherwise there is only positive news for this performance. Maybe this is an incentive for one or the other of you to do a little physical activity while gaming or between games. Other players on consoles have recently been banned – including the “best players in the world”.
