During Friday, the last rehearsal before the grand finale of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Malmö.
During the genre rep, the program is carried out in a more or less identical way that is then intended in the live broadcast. All artists fine-tune their numbers to the last detail, and they also check that all technical pieces, such as sound and lighting, work as they should.
But when Austria entered the scene, things didn’t quite go as planned. Behind the artist was “Australia” in large letters, instead of “Austria”.
– An embarrassing mistake for SVT, but luckily it happens at a rehearsal. If it had been during the live broadcast, all Swedes would have been ashamed, says TV4 Nyheterna’s Filip Stiller Borowicz, who saw the genre rep in place.
