Recently, the Swedish Consumer Agency issued a warning regarding a Dutch company whose business consists of offering assistance in terminating subscriptions and agreements of various kinds.
What, according to several customers, is not clear is that the service costs money, which has resulted in the authority receiving roughly 170 reports against the company.

Now the Tax Agency flags for another company, which also charges for a service that is actually free of charge.
The Swedish Tax Agency: “Several people have contacted us”
More specifically, it concerns a company that created a web page with information on how to book an appointment with the Statens service center to apply for an ID card. There they also claim to be able to complete the booking on behalf of private individuals for a fee of SEK 400.
Making such a booking is in fact free.

“You pay the company for making the booking, but the application fee for the ID card is then not included, so an additional SEK 400 must be paid to the Swedish Tax Agency for the application fee. Several people have contacted the Swedish Tax Agency that the booking they ordered from the company has not been completed” , the authority writes in one press releasewhich continues:
“The Tax Agency and the Norwegian State Service Center, which manages the booking for the Swedish Tax Agency, have reported the incident to the police and urge anyone affected by a missed booking to do so as well. The Norwegian Service Center has also reported the incident to the Norwegian Agency for Community Protection and Preparedness, MSB.”
Furthermore, the Swedish Tax Agency urges everyone to be vigilant when it comes to giving out personal data.
