A month ago, Vingegaard was involved in a crash with several other leading riders in a downhill run on the fourth stage of the Basque Tour.
He broke his collarbone, several ribs and suffered a collapsed lung.
Vingegaard had to spend several days in hospital and it has been quiet about his health since then.
“Nice to cycle as usual again”
– This is the first time back on the bike for me, when I cycle outdoors, and it’s really nice to be able to cycle as usual again, says Vingegaard in a video on X.
It will be an arduous road back to be able to try to defend his double titles in the Tour de France, which begins on June 29 in Florence, Italy.
– Of course I hope to be at the start of the Tour de France, we don’t know exactly how my form and how my recovery will go, but I will do everything I can to get there in top form, says Vingegaard.
