Here are the three best all-purpose cleaners

There is a plethora of all-purpose cleaners on store shelves and online we are met with housewives’ tricks such as vinegar and bicarbonate.
But you should be careful with what you buy, advises Råd & rön.
– There are a number of agents that are strongly promoted by “tikelit smokers and cleanfluencers”, says test manager Ronny Karlsson.

The consumer magazine Råd & rön has tested 21 cleaning products that are marketed as all-purpose cleaning or universal cleaning products. In this way, they differ from products that are to be used specifically in, for example, kitchens or bathrooms.

– They should work everywhere in the home, says Ronny Karlsson in Nyhetsmorgon.

Tiktok favorite worst in test

Many of the cleaning products are good, according to test manager Ronny Karlsson, but they are good at different things. He shows the three products that are the best in the test.

– In terms of cleaning, they are very good, but they are a little different. Someone is very good at grease stains, for example, someone leaves no traces behind. So they are slightly different good at different things, says test manager Ronny Karlsson.

Among the test’s three worst products, Tiktok favorite The Pink Stuff stands out.

– This is the Tiktok favorite right now among the “clean influences”. It cleans well, but it also contains two undesirable substances – partly an allergenic preservative and an agent with a direct environmental impact, says Ronny Karlsson in Nyhetsmorgon.

In the rest of the test, there were unusually few unwanted substances in the cleaning products, he says.

These viral housewife tricks

On social media, various housewife tricks that are painted as miracle cures abound. Vinegar and bicarbonate are the most common agents used. They have been tested in the same way as other cleaning products by Råd & rön.

And they clean just fine, says the test manager. Vinegar works well on grease stains and bicarbonate works well on more general dirt stains.

– Bicarbonate is completely harmless. However, it is very expensive. And if it’s not better than something else – then it feels like you don’t have to pay for bicarbonate.

When it comes to vinegar, there are both food vinegar and cleaning vinegar on the market, and the cleaning vinegar should be handled with care.

– Here we are talking about very corrosive substances. Here, safety glasses are worn if you have to handle vinegar – it is so dangerous. And it doesn’t always appear in these tricks that you read, says Ronny Karlsson.
