Is your life turning into a fiasco right now? Good news: like the laborious daily life of Raphaël Valande (Pierre Niney) in the hit series, it is possible to bounce back. Our psychologist gives you his advice.
Raphaël Valande is a director full of ambition. But terribly blundering. In the phenomenon series “Fiasco”, the young man, played by Pierre Niney, makes a series of blunders and errors, until he transforms his filming into a real nightmare.
A real descent into hell
In this extremely funny series, which alternates between uncomfortable and suspenseful scenes, Raphaël Valande, a hope of French cinema, tries – as best he can – to pay homage to his grandmother Huguette (Marie-Christine Barrault), a resistance fighter during the Second World War. Except that nothing is going to go as planned.
Raphaël Valande is unable to assert himself against his teams, cannot find the “crow” who ruins his shoot and even lacks the courage to declare his love for an actress (Leslie Medina). He also doesn’t know how to say no to his best friend (François Civil), ready to do anything to land a Viking role in the film.
Shenanigans, scams and lies then follow… The characters thus plunge the series into a totally absurd genre. The main character, Raphaël, gets stuck in his daily problems and literally loses control of his filming – and his actors.
Good in his body, good in his head!
Faced with this incredible series, in which Pierre Niney takes the blame, only one question comes to mind: How can we regain control, when we are subjected to everyday events to this extent?
Amélie Bouhkobza, clinical psychologist, offers us a method to overcome difficulties.
“First of all, we start by taking a break to reflect and gain some perspective. We find a space to breathe, take a step back and put things back into perspective“, she explains. “Then, it may be a good idea to go see friends/support or a professional to redefine where normality lies and reestablish the benchmarks. We take the opportunity to redefine our priorities, I often recommend the traditional to do list. We list our goals, every week, every day why not, in a realistic and achievable way. Then we get started, step by step, we move forward… and we check off. Structuring your time can indeed help you visualize and manage daily tasks more effectively. Prioritizing activities according to their importance and urgency is therefore absolutely essential,” explains the specialist.
His other advice, simple but effective, when everyday life escapes us? Maintain quality sleep, respecting a bedtime.
“On also uses and abuses all breathing techniques, sports and other methods to lower stress levels of the organism. Finally, let’s not forget that life cannot be entirely controlled, a part necessarily escapes us. And that’s normal!“, she recalls, in conclusion.
