There is currently a large police operation underway on Södermalm in central Stockholm where a person was shot on Monday evening, according to the police.
– We are working on the site right now. It’s about securing witnesses and life-saving measures, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson at the Stockholm Police to The Express.
No perpetrator caught
No suspect has yet been arrested.
According to a witness who SVT spoke to, between six and eight shots were heard at Helgalunden on Södermalm.
The area is cordoned off and a “full-scale” operation is underway in the area with several police cars and a helicopter circulating over the area, according to witnesses on the scene.
The police are hunting one or more perpetrators
The police does not want to provide any information about the state of injury of the person who was shot, but on their website they write that a man has been hit and life-saving measures are being put in place.
– We have set up large cordons to keep the crime scene intact and are hunting for one or more perpetrators, says Daniel Wikdahl to The evening paper.
According to information to The evening paper a dark-clad and masked perpetrator is said to have run from the scene after the crime.
