This is the first time that the Senegalese Democratic Party has spoken in public since the election of the president Bassirou Diomaye Fayeon March 24, for whom the party had called to vote since its candidate Karim Wade had been excluded from the presidential race by the Constitutional Council.
Bachir Diawara, spokesperson for the PDS, welcomes the first actions taken by the new head of state: “ The government has taken a bold step to suspend construction on the coast. We welcome this and ask the State to consider the possibility of implementing a tax tax, around 25%, which could truly allow this same State to make investments from a structural point of view to resolve the issue of social housing and flooding. »
While Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s party is far from having a majority in the National Assembly, the PDS anticipates a potential dissolution of Parliament from September and therefore new legislative elections in the process: ” We have also discussed the next deadlines here to say that we will fully participate in future legislative deadlines under the leadership of our candidate Karim Wade. »
