Ukrainian forces have shot down a Russian attack plane of the Su-25 model in the Donetsk region, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says on X.
In his post, he also warns of an escalation of Russian attacks in connection with Victory Day on May 9, when Russia commemorates the surrender of Nazi Germany in World War II.
Russia attacked Ukraine with 24 drones during the night of Sunday, of which 23 were shot down, the Ukrainian Air Force says. The attacks took place against Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kherson regions.
At least one person was injured in Kharkiv in eastern Ukraine, the city’s mayor Ihor Terechov said.
