Orientation: Star Hanna Lundberg on night sections for ladies at Tiomila: “Will be exciting”

– I’m absolutely open to testing and I don’t understand why ladies shouldn’t be able to run at night. It will be exciting to simply test, says Lundberg to SVT Sport.

The ladies will run two night stages on Saturday evening when Tiomila is decided in Nynäshamn. After the two night legs, the ladies will take a break and make a chase start at 07.00 on Sunday morning where the last four legs will take place.

The ladies go up from four to six stages

The format has changed from previous years when the ladies ran four legs and finished at 6pm on Saturday – before the men’s start. As part of the tactic, the participants are not allowed to reveal the distance they will run.

– I’m ready for it and take what I get, says Lundberg, who competes for the Luleå club OK Renen.

21-year-old Lundberg had her breakthrough with a partial victory in the 2021 World Cup and was third in the overall cup. After an injury-filled 2022, she came back last year and was part of the gold team in the WC relay and took a WC bronze in the middle distance.
