While Malmö celebrated its 16th cup title in front of its heel section, Djurgården stood in front of its traveling supporters with bowed heads.
Haris Radetinac, who missed Djurgården’s one penalty in the shootout, heard the away team sing a hymn dedicated to him as he was embraced by the team on the pitch.
– He deserved that. Both have taken penalties before and set them aside, that’s what happens, says Djurgården’s midfielder Besard Sabovic.
Magnus Eriksson, Djurgården’s team captain who was replaced, believes that neither Radetinac nor Gulliksen should be blamed for the cup final loss.
– That was the first thing we said: that regardless of whether we win or lose, we do this together. That has been the mantra with us since day one. Nobody stands alone – neither Tobbe nor Haris who misses the penalties, says Magnus Eriksson.
