When the smock hung in the air, the police were called to a parking lot outside the nightclub.
A wanted man was found at the scene.
– He was arrested in his absence for a serious crime with links to gang crime, says the officer on duty.
Just before 03:00 on the night of Wednesday, the police were alerted to a parking lot on Arenavägen in southern Stockholm. It is located at the Tele2 Arena, opposite the Colosseum night club.
– A security guard at the nightclub raised the alarm that several people appeared to be getting ready to fight in the parking lot, says the officer on duty at the police.
Witnesses state that the patrols checked several people at a rental car in the parking lot and that two more people were checked below the bus square at Gullmarsplan, further north on Arenavägen.
– There were two people whose life jackets were taken off by the police up at the WSP building, says a passerby.
One of the men who was checked during the police operation turned out to be wanted.
– He was arrested in his absence for a serious crime with links to gang crime, says the officer on duty.
No additional persons were detained in connection with the incident.
– Something was going on, but was stopped. We have not found any weapon, says the officer on duty.
