In the Steam hit Manor Lords you build a medieval village and defend it in strategic battles. It can be so epic that its own Wikipedia entry seems appropriate.
What is Manor Lords? Manor Lords is a medieval building game that launched on Steam with over 150,000 players. With 88% positive reviews, it seems to live up to the expectations of many players and German strategy game expert Maurice Weber also has words of praise for Manor Lords.
The title from solo developer Slavic Magic delights its players with detailed city building and graphics that are quite impressive for the genre. But it’s not just building your own medieval village that is well received by players. Apparently the battles are so exciting that some people even write Wikipedia articles.
What’s the deal with the Wikipedia article? Player “Galaxy661” reported on Reddit that he fought an “epic battle” in Manor Lords. His village was attacked by a group of bandits, but during the attack there were only 5 guards in the village who faced 54 bandits.
The player then decided on a tactical maneuver.
Following the fight, Galaxy661 created a now-deleted Wikipedia entry about his battle and posted a screenshot of the page on Reddit.
He also wrote in a comment, “It was just a normal bandit encounter, but it was too epic not to add some story,” and so he named the battle the “2nd Battle of Firewood Pass.”
Player would like to remember his brave guards: It is of course obvious that the Wikipedia article was quickly deleted by the website’s moderation. Galaxy661 would still like to remember his brave guards. Finally, 5 guards bravely stood their ground against 36 attackers and bought the necessary time for reinforcements to arrive.
Galaxy661 therefore suggests adding statues or monuments to the building game. They should only be cosmetic, but should reflect special events that your own village has experienced – such as a harsh winter, a particularly good harvest or a brutal battle.
Although you can’t currently build statues for your brave soldiers, you can brew them some beer as a reward: Manor Lords: Make beer, build a tavern and produce malt – Here’s how it works
