The Polish farmers who blocked the border crossings to Ukraine have now ended their blockade, reports the AFP news agency.
– Traffic across all border crossings is now possible, says Michal Derus, spokesman for the tax authorities in Lublin, to the news agency.
Since last autumn, the farmers have protested angrily against what they consider to be unfair competition from Ukraine, since the country was given major import concessions to the EU to help in the war against Russia.
The farmers’ protests around the EU have contributed to the fact that Ukraine’s trade concessions have now been limited for the coming years, while the EU’s own regulations have been adapted to ease the situation.
