The first plaque has now been placed on a bench in the Beijing garden of Baarn by mayor Mark Röell, councilor Steven de Vries and Baar resident Jeff Balch. “If you are walking in the park and you see someone who needs a chat, you can sit down for a moment. It can be a small act for you and make a big difference for someone else,” says De Vries.
