Russia’s intervention in Ukraine continues. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy made striking statements in an interview, “They kidnapped our mayors and killed some of them. “We can’t find many of them,” he said.
“THE PEOPLE WE FIND ARE ALREADY DIE”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy made striking statements in an interview with The Economist. Stating that Russia kidnapped many Ukrainian mayors, Zelenskiy said, “They kidnapped the mayors of our cities. They killed some of them and we can’t find many of them. The people we found were already dead,” he said.
“PEOPLE ARE STILL LIVING”
Emphasizing that Ukrainian soldiers and volunteers bravely defended their city, Zelenskiy said, “Our fearless soldiers are defending Mariupol right now. They could have left here a long time ago, but they did not leave the city. Here, after 31 days of bombardment, they are still fighting, not at Zelenskiy’s request, but to bury the dead and save the lives of the wounded. “People are still alive and we have to continue to protect them,” he said.
“IMPOSSIBLE TO BELIEVE IN ANYTHING OTHER”
Reiterating his words that Ukraine will triumph, Zelensky said, “It is impossible to believe in anything else. “We will definitely win because this is our home, our land and our independence,” he said. Zelenskiy also said, “It is possible that the victory will save the lives of many people, because without it, nothing would mean anything. Our land is important,” he said, adding that they will stay in Ukraine and continue to defend their country until the end.
