A small note may have probably saved the life of a 32-year-old woman in Montpellier in France, reports RMC.
A couple found the note on the street and it read:
“Help me, I’m being held prisoner”.
It was on Tuesday evening that the incident came to light, when the young couple found the note.
– We were on our way home when we found a note on the ground that said “please help me”, says the couple.
In addition to the cry for help, there was also a name and an address on the note, which turned out to belong to a 32-year-old woman who had been subjected to domestic violence. She had been locked up and beaten but managed to raise the alarm by throwing the note into the street.
Alerted the police
The note was knotted and looked like it had been stepped on, but the couple picked it up and read what it said.
– At first we thought it was a bad joke, they tell RMC.
The couple contacted the police, who were able to enter the home. There they found the 32-year-old woman with a swollen face, she was taken to hospital. At the scene, the police were also able to arrest a suspected perpetrator.
– We are happy that we were able to help the woman, says the couple who found the piece of paper.
